“Goral” was shot from Doi Luang Chiang Dao peak, locals found it and sent it for treatment, the head of Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary asked locals to help conserve it as a rare protected animal, there was a group of hunters who hunted it because they believed it could cure diseases.
Today (14 May 2025) Mr. Phonnarin Khumthong, Chief of Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary, Chiang Mai Province, revealed the case of villagers seeing a goral standing on the side of the road at the halfway point between Ban Na Lao and Pha Tang checkpoint, approximately 10 km. Villagers went down to look and found that it was injured. When the villagers found it, the goral did not run away and walked towards people, so the villagers brought the goral to Pha Tang Unit.
